Building literacy skills at Croydon Park PS

 'Colourful Semantics' is an evidence based programme  that assists  students to create longer and grammatically correct  sentences.


 These year 5 students are selecting 'colour-coded' vocabulary to  assist them to talk about the beginning and then a problem that  occurred in their own story (narrative). Students then went on to  write their story ideas down. Visual cues and talking - using oral  language - supports the development of literacy.
